What is the New Plays Workshop?

The purpose of the workshop is to support playwrights with developing new plays. It is also a place where actors—both experienced and inexperienced—can read plays aloud. Other interested folks can come and listen.  It is a time and place where the theatre community can share ideas.

Playwrights interested in hearing portions of their play read aloud should:

1.    Submit an eight-page maximum excerpt of their play.  The font should be no smaller than 12pt.

2.    Include a short one-page cover with a brief scene description, cast list, phone number and email.

3.    Send to taosnewworks2025@gmail.com

4.    All submissions will be reviewed and writers will be contacted regarding performance dates.

When and Where: second Sunday of each month at Backstage, 1350 Paseo del Pueblo, Suite A (Southside Plaza)

Cost: There is no charge.
